Joël, the owner of Riad Karmela Princesse, has more than 25 years of working as a hotel professional in Europe. This boutique hotel experience has given him first-hand knowledge of what a discerning traveller is really looking for and he now owns a few charming riads within the Marrakech Medina.

Riad Karmela Princesse is a modern adaptation of an authentic riad highlighting traditional Moroccan methods and materials including the wood (Moucharabieh), Fes Zellige tiles, hand hammered copper, woven wool (Boucharouite rugs), taddelakt lime plaster and cement tiles. Families with children over the age of 4 only are accepted due to safety reasons.

The experienced team speak a number of languages including French, English, Spanish, German and can help advise and organise your stay in Marrakech.

Dining
Breakfast and dinners are served on the main patio during the winter and on the terraces during the summer months. A three-course menu of modern Moroccan dishes is prepared by Chef Salah and you can nip across the road to the restaurant at Riad Karmela for traditional Moroccan cuisine, known to be one of the best riad restaurants in Marrakech.

Activities
Just opposite is sister property Riad Karmela, which has a bar, restaurant and a menu of beauty treatments including a traditional Moroccan hammam and sauna. Guests of Riad Karmela Princesse can wander across the road and use all of these facilities during their stay.

The Djemma el-Fna Square is less than 10 minutes walk and the Majorelle Gardens are just 10 minutes by taxi. If making a trip here (recommended) take time to take a peak in 33 Rue Majorelle, the shop opposite the entrance, it has a carefully curated selection of goods from local and up-and-coming designers that you'll want to take home.

The best way to arrive at the riad is to arrange a taxi through the hotel to and from the airport as access to the riad is difficult. Airport transfer is €15 each way.

  My uncle and I went to Morocco recently and stayed for 3 nights. We absolutely loved this place. Everything was clean and welcoming. I wish the pool on the roof had been open but I guess it was the end of the season. The pool inside was perfect and a great way to cool down after being in the heat of the day. You are literally steps away from Shops in the Medina! However, if you are unfamiliar with the place it can be tricky! Mohammed made our stay absolutely fantastic. He was there for us every day and made sure we had everything we needed. We hope to visit our brother Mohammed again soon!

  Great hosts. Nice place in a great location. Our room was perfect except for the loud noise of the food being brought up from the kitchen by their lift. Breakfast was nice and copious. Nice terrace for sunbathing, but pool isn't in a place that you can use though.

  On a recent trip with girlfriends, found this riad excellent ..An oasis in a desert. Staff excellent , Nora and Amin especially.I hope to return one day

  Amazing riad with a pool and jacuzzi on the rooftop. Service is amazing and breakfast is all home made. Amazing experience.
