Nestled in the mountains of Zermatt, this family-run ski hotel is as welcoming as it is stylish. It’s clear on first entering Bellerive that this is no ordinary ski hotel; this is a boutique ski hotel. From the chalet-style wooden exterior, to the warm hues and comfy sofas within, the place is certainly an inviting retreat after a day on the slopes.
Better yet, at only 26 rooms, there is a remarkably homely feel to Hotel Bellerive - helped along by the charming staff who will go out of their way to help in any way they can. Add to that the pampering spa, the careful attention to detail and the beguiling mountain views, and it’s no surprise that the hotel has been graced with a string of awards.
Travelling with a four-legged friend? This is a pet-friendly hotel (please contact hotel ahead of arrival, extra charge applies).
Fuel your day on the slopes with the hotel’s great breakfasts, which are included in most room rates (see rate detail below). While there is no restaurant at the hotel, there is a lovely bar in which to enjoy an aperitif.
The 26 rooms have been designed in a modern style, with cosy décor, warm hues and wooden furnishings. Some of the rooms feature spectacular views out over the surrounding mountains, while others have freestanding tubs or their own fireplaces. It’s worth noting that some of the cheaper rooms come up a little on the small side, so if you like room to stretch out, we recommend upgrading.
Zermatt is famous for its excellent skiing, with snowy peaks throughout the year and a plethora of runs to whiz down. The hotel has ski storage space and can help arrange ski passes for you.
After a day zooming down the mountains, a bit of pampering in the hotel’s spa is much deserved. Here you can relax with a massage or treatment, sink into the hot tub or make use of the sauna, hammam and solarium.
