Tucked away in a peaceful residential area, just a short stroll from the centre of town, boutique B&B, Arden House, is the perfect home away from home for your stay in Stratford-upon-Avon.
Set across two Victorian townhouses and counting just 10 rooms, there is a decidedly intimate feel to this Chic Retreat - made all the more so by the charming staff who are referred to as ‘house hosts’ and are unfailingly friendly and attentive.
Breakfast is a highlight at Arden House with a good selection of hot dishes and, served around a ‘family style’ dining table, that gives a nice, convivial atmosphere.
Whilst there is no restaurant on site, a complimentary Afternoon Tea is served each day along with gin & tonics come 5 o’clock and ‘The Pantry’ offers a wide-range of treats for all your snacking needs between.
The 10 rooms are split into three different types, with each step up offering a bit more space than the last. The décor is simple but elegant with plenty of muted tones and the odd fun pattern thrown in for good measure. Whilst the marble-clad bathrooms do come up compact, the added treat of bathrobes, slippers and ESPA toiletries is a nice touch.
Whilst Arden House boasts little in the way of amenities, you couldn’t be better placed to explore Stratford-upon-Avon and its plethora of William Shakespeare related sights. Shakespeare’s birthplace is a 10-minute walk from the hotel and the Royal Shakespeare Company just a little further on.
There is plenty more besides to be enjoyed in this vibrant market town - from the boutiques and quaint tea rooms on the pretty high street to a stroll or boat trip along the River Avon.
