Chateau de Massillan dates back to 1550 when it was owned by Diane de Poitiers, the famous lover of Henry the second. This contemporary boutique hotel is situated near Orange and Avignon just 10 minutes off the 'autoroute de soleil'. Chateau de Massillan is surrounded by world famous vineyards such as Chateau Neuf du Pape, Gigondas, Beaumes de Venise. Chateau de Massillan has 24 acres of parkland, with a herb garden, a 40 metre long pond, a pine wood and meadows. The restaurant opens out to a very large courtyard which features a contemporary fountain. Opposite the restaurant is a second relaxation area where pre and post dinner drinks are served. To the east of the fountain is the 14m long swimming pool. Chateau de Massillan is an ideal venue for a wedding, celebration or party for up to 70 dinner guests.
The gastronomic restaurant at Chateau de Massillan has an exellent selection of quality Rhone Valley wines which perfectly pair the delicious southern French cuisine. 10 of the owner's favourite wines are available by the glass. The meals are served in the courtyard around the fountain or in the orangery on cooler nights.
The restaurant is closed on Mondays giving guests the chance to try out the excellent local cuisine, there are 3 great restaurants less than 5 km away. Bookings for the hotel's restaurant are essential.
