Food & Drink
Turkish food has many similarities to the cuisines of the nations bordering it - Greece, Bulgaria, Iraq,and Syria. Think meze - appetizers - comprising olives, dips, and flatbread, in addition to lots of grilled meat and vegetables. Most of Turkey’s best restaurants are clustered around Istanbul, so we will focus there. Balıkçı Sabahattın (Seyit Hasan Koyu Sokak 1) is perhaps the city’s best destination for seafood, while Yeni Lokanta (Kumbarcı Yokuşu 66) does outstanding traditional Turkish favourites.
Outside of Black Sea resorts and their traditional beachside restaurants and clubs, Istanbul is again the centre of Turkish nightlife and the best bet for Western visitors. 360 Istanbul (Istiklal Cad) offers a complete panorama of the city while you enjoy a cocktail.
