Casale Panayiotis is where authentic charm and rural luxury combine to create a boutique hotel and spa in the Cyprus mountains. Hidden away in the spa village of Kalopanayiotis in the Troodos mountains Casale Panayiotis is the ideal base from which to explore the real and traditional Cyprus away from the tourist trail. Families are really looked after beautifully here.
Unlike any other hotel in the world, guests at Casale Panayiotis are truly immersed in the midst of the village, with most rooms enjoying glorious mountain views or a private courtyard garden. The three restaurants serve fresh, nutritious food, sourced from the local area as far as possible, and all have views to die for. A full breakfast is served each morning.
Dishes at restaurant Byzantino are made from traditional Cypriot recipes handed down from generation to generation. Romantic dinners can be enjoyed on the veranda next to the Setrachos stream and during the cooler months you can dine by the fireside.
Epikentro is open from midday and serves cold drinks, coffees, teas and snacks. This is where breakfast is served for hotel guests who can try out the herbal tea made from herbs from the surrounding mountains. The flower-filled courtyard is a peaceful spot to enjoy a chilled glass of wine. If you are after an aperitivo before dinner head to the Kava Bar where you can sample the regions finest wines and share a platter of local specialities.
The 41 en-suite rooms and suites at Casale Panayiotis have all been traditionally and individually restored in keeping with the old village style. The luxury rooms and suites are embedded in 7 traditional village houses and each one is just a few steps from the spa, restaurant, and coffee shop. Original features have been restored wherever possible and local artisan fabrics and handicrafts decorate the interiors including crochet curtains, handmade cushion covers, and traditional Cypriot bedspreads.
Enjoy the views from the veranda, relax in the spa or curl up with your favourite book. Head out and explore the Byzantine monasteries, churches and chapels or discover the wine routes, enjoy a nature trail or hike or cycle along one of the forest trails. Fishing, rock-climbing and skiing are all within easy reach for those looking to be a little more energetic.
The award-winning Myrianthousa Spa is one-of-a-kind, with its hydrotherapy pool, thermal suite, snow cabin, rhassoul mud and seven treatment rooms, including a luxurious couple’s suite with private outdoor whirlpool. The spa is terraced into the side of the mountain, surrounded by fruit trees and bathed in light, with tranquil views across the gurgling stream.
Casale Panayiotis is all about giving back to the local community. Guests are encouraged to wander around the village and sip coffee with the locals, or visit the exquisitely frescoed Byzantine monastery and chat to the priests. There are miles and miles of unspoilt nature to explore on walking trails or mountain bikes. Visits to local cottage industries or walks around the hotel’s working orchards are easily arranged.
Nearby attractions include Kykko Monastery and Trooditissa Monastery, as well as various mountain adventure parks. Rock-climbing, abseiling and skiing are also accessible. Casale Panayiotis is just 50 minutes from Nicosia,
