The exterior of the Medusa hotel will have you expecting a sweet B&B, which isn't really too far from the truth. Owner-run, the service is personable and attentive and with only 17 rooms, it’s rather like staying with friends.
The setting is wonderfully cosy and there’s a compact courtyard area for when your afternoon's exploring gets you a little too hot under the collar.
You’re a decent stroll from the waterfront at Rushcutters Bay and not too far from some of the city's best shopping and nightlife.
The Medusa is an adult-only property.
Medusa doesn't serve food but there are a number of great places on your doorstep.
Funky is the operative word here, with punchy colours and kooky furniture in each of the 17 individually designed rooms. The cheaper rooms do come up quite cosy, so we'd recommend upgrading if you can stretch.
Located in Darlinghurst between William and Oxford Streets, there is a laidback and creative vibe to this inner-city suburb. Whilst there is plenty to explore on the hotel's doorstep, you're also well-placed to explore further afield with Hyde Park under a 15-minute walk away and Sydney Harbour a 30-minute walk away.
How to get there
