The 10 rooms are simple and contemporary, with rustic-feeling stone and wood complementing the otherwise white walls. Due to the hotel's central location, there is a little street noise and it's worth noting that some rooms are interior facing, so we'd recommend upgrading to a room with a balcony overlooking the Old Town.

    Why so chic?

Why travel experts chose this hotel

    Chic Treats

Only when you book with Chic

Tucked away in the heart of San Sebastián’s Old Town, Pensión Aldamar – a modern and bright Chic Retreat – is equipped with everything you need from a city centre boutique: 10 comfortable and contemporary rooms, an inviting communal area and unfailingly friendly service.

What’s more, this Chic Retreat sits between San Sebastián’s two beaches – the Zurriola and the Concha beach – so, if you’re here for the sea, then Pensión Aldamar might just be the place for you.

    Dining

There are no dining options on site, but an ample breakfast is available from the partner café around the corner, and you are spoilt for choice on eateries nearby. The approachable staff at Pensión Aldamar will be happy to advise you on the best places to go.

    Activities

The foodie delights of San Sebastián’s Old Town are on your doorstep - beckoning for leisurely lunches in the sunshine to evenings spent sampling the best pintxos from bar to bar.

Head to the Parque de Cristina Enea, a grand park created by the Duke of Mandas in honour of his wife. Full of beautiful ornamental plants, open lawns and even peacocks, this is a great place for people watching, picnicking, or just cooling off on a hot summer’s day.

Alternatively, if you’re feeling particularly active, hike up Monte Urgull – a hill that sits above the Old Town to the east of the Bahía de la Concha. At the top you will find the fascinating Castillo de la Mota – a small castle dating back to the 12th century. Most impressive, though, are the spectacular panoramic views of San Sebastián.
