Hotel Art by the Spanish Steps is a boutique hotel in Rome for real art aficionados and design enthusiasts. Once a boarding school this design hotel is in a fantastic location on Rome's Via Margutta famous for its art galleries and antique shops.
The interiors of the hotel are modern with plenty of light and colour and the walls are adorned with paintings and pictures creating a lively, happy atmosphere. The hall, which was once an ancient chapel, is now a minimalist space featuring silk-screen prints and bronze busts and leads to the hotel's designer courtyard.
The wellness space and fitness area are modern but cosy and welcoming. Not a hotel for traditionalists.
Crystal Bistrot is the restaurant-bar at Hotel Art by the Spanish Steps. Once an ancient chapel, this room features high-vaulted frescoed ceilings and is where to come for a quick lunch, snack or aperitif before dinner. Enjoy a late breakfast or brunch before heading out for the day, design-lovers will love the elegant setting.
Crystal Bistrot is open from 10:30 until 23:00.
Each of the four floors at the Hotel Art by the Spanish Steps has its own colour. Comfortable and cosy, the 46 rooms and suites all have a modern, sleek design. Expect smooth wood floors, leather and wood furniture and modern paintings on the walls. The en-suite bathrooms have everything you need and expect from a luxury boutique hotel in Rome and the rooms are equipped with the latest high-tech amenities.
Room service and a laundry and ironing service are available to guests and the reception is open 24 hours a day. The hotel also has an excellent concierge as well as a currency exchange service for hotel guests.
Some rooms can interconnect making them ideal for families.
Via Margutta is one of the most characterful streets in Rome and certainly one of the most picturesque. You're literally a hop and a skip from the Spanish Steps and some of Rome's trendiest restaurants. Via Condotti, Piazza del Popolo are all close by as is the nearest metro.
The hotel is in the ZTL-traffic restricted area and offers discounted rates for indoor car parks nearby, though the Carabinieri (Italian Police) in Rome are like bees to honey when it comes to foreign cars so public transport or taxis are recommended.
The cosy wellness area has a hammam and sauna and you can book a massage with a little notice.
