If you love a good view then Gávea Tropical Boutique Hotel is the place for you. Located in Gavea, a smart suburb in Rio, you can see just about all the main sights from the hotel – glimpse outside and you’ll spot Christ the Redeemer and the Sugarloaf Mountain.
Decked out with oriental, Thai-style décor, the budget boutique hotel is characterful and chic ‒ a lovely change from the bigger, brasher Rio hotels. Best of all, there are only six rooms here, making a tranquil and personable vibe throughout.
A homemade breakfast is served in the mornings, and a variety of snacks and light dishes can be ordered during the day. There is no restaurant at the hotel, but the staff will be more than happy to recommend the best eateries nearby.
There are six rooms at this Chic Retreat, which have been decorated with warm hues and oriental-style furnishings. Most (excluding the villa) offer spectacular views of the Christ the Redeemer and the Sugarloaf Mountain.
If you’ve come here to recharge your batteries, you won’t be disappointed. On those hot afternoons, the small swimming pool is a welcome respite, or dip into the jacuzzi for some serious r&r. There is even a sauna and steam room, not to mention a range of spa treatments available, so you won’t leave unrelaxed.
If you fancy something a little more active, bikes are available for hire, and there is a small gym.
