Ottolire Resort boutique hotel in Puglia that has a fascinating and charming story to tell. In 1973, Michele (nicknamed “ottolire”) and Vita, just 18 years old, stumbled upon a group of ruined Trulli and bought them.
Their hard work, blood, sweat, and tears brought them back to life, using the experience of his grandfather and great-grandfather who were both involved in the construction of Trulli. Their sons, Erasmo and Antonella then grew up here and forty-five years later they have once again brought this wonderful place back to life and transformed Ottolire Resort into a magnificent boutique hotel in Itria Valley, Puglia.
Located on a little hill in Locorotondo, Ottolire Resort sits in silence surrounded by a forest of oaks and Mediterranean flora and fauna. This new boutique hotel is a gem and is perfectly located if you're looking to explore some of the prettiest medieval towns in Puglia.
The restaurant at Ottolire Resort uses local produce to create typical, traditional dishes full of flavour and enticing colours.
Ottolire Resort serves a feast of local Apulian products for breakfast including local bread, salami and cheese from Puglia, organic jams, cakes, pastries, cereals, bacon and yoghurts accompanied by fragrant coffees, teas and juices.
Families, friends, and couples are all welcome at Ottolire Resort and its 14 rooms. Single-use rates are available and children between 3 and 12 years old receive a 50% discount off the rate. Cots are charged at €20 per day. Ottolire only accept one family in the hotel at any time.
Just 10 minutes away by car Locorotondo has been named as one of Italy's most beautiful towns and is definitely worth a visit. Nearby is Cisternino, a medieval town that has a labyrinth of streets and open spaces with whitewashed houses adorned with geraniums, stairways, loggias and pretty arches. Pretty beaches are 15 minutes away by car.
Alberobello is one of the most famous towns in the region. Sitting on the Murgia plateau, it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996 and is famous for being the 'town of Trulli'. It's an exceptional example of the ancient art of Trulli construction and showcases the new way of constructing them using mortar.
