Masseria Lama di Coccaro is a lovingly run boutique hotel in the heart of the Puglian countryside. Set on an old farm, just outside of Fasano, there is a distinctly creative vibe here; with the help of local artists and a real eye for detail, the charming owners have renovated the original stone buildings to create nine lovely rooms, each with their own look and feel.
The warmth and creativity of owners, Marialuce and Georgio, can be felt throughout and a stay here is somewhat akin to staying at the house of a delightfully arty friend.
Masseria Lama di Coccaro is an adult-only property and is only open seasonally (around April to end of October). The masseria is also available to hire for weddings and private events.
Breakfast is served each day on the terrace with table settings fit for royalty.
There is no restaurant on site but an honesty bar that guests can help themselves to, and the lovely hosts are happy to help with recommendations and bookings for restaurants nearby.
Each of the nine rooms has been individually (and lovingly) designed by Marialuce. All are stylish and comfortable with Mediterranean-style furnishings and quirky design items, incorporating elements of the stunning setting.
It's worth noting that there is a 2-night minimum stay.
There is a gorgeous pool set amongst the lemon trees (open in the summer months).
There are a number of golf courses within easy driving distance of the masseria, the closest being San Domenico Golf Club which is a 10-minute drive away (5km).
The hotel is a short drive from some wonderful swim spots on the Adriatic coast (around a 10-minute drive away) and the ancient town of Fasano is a 10-minute drive inland.
