The Gold Well Hotel is a renaissance house which originally belonged to Roman Emperor and Bohemian King Rudolf II and served as the Residence of the famous Astronomer Tycho de Brahe. As this house was abandoned and nearly destroyed during the communist regime in Prague, a major renovation was necessary to bring back its beauty and charm for its re-opening in 2000 as a small boutique hotel.
All the historical sites of the City of 1000 Spires are within easy walking distance; Charles Bridge, St Nicholas Church, Old Town Square (one of the most beautiful in Europe). Guests can use the Emperor's private entrance that takes them directly to the gardens of Prague Castle.
The Golden Well Hotel is lucky enough to have Pavel Sapik as their chef. He is a member of the Czech National Team and the gold winner of the World Championship in Singapore. His food is original and is beautifully complemented by a great selection of wines.
