There are 11 rooms at Grand Room&Rendezvous, each individually designed and spacious with the pricier options boasting magnificent views out over the ocean or mountains behind. There are also two suites - The Bath House is a particular highlight, coming with its own plunge pool and two side-by-side roll top baths – a great choice if you’re looking to impress or looking for a honeymoon hotel in South Africa. It’s worth noting that some of the rooms come with open plan baths – so perhaps not ideal if you’re sharing with a pal – but loos are separate.

These boutique hotel rooms offer extraordinary views of the ocean and surrounding mountains, with private entrances and high beds with fine percale linen and hypoallergenic inners.

Grand Rooms&Rendezvous is a wonderfully eccentric boutique hotel located right in the centre of Plettenberg Bay (or Plett as it’s known locally) – a thriving town with pristine beaches along the Garden Route. A bohemian extravaganza, this iconic boutique hotel with 11 elegant suites is a well-known landmark on South Africa’s Garden Route.

The style across the rooms is shabby chic in the grandest sense of the phrase – with weathered wooden panelling, antique rugs and furnishings and vintage memorabilia everywhere you look. Then there are the wrought iron beds – some so high you need a little stool to clamber into them.

Comfortable, quirky and full of soul, this is a great base for your stay in Plett.

It's worth noting that children aged 12 and under are not allowed at this hotel.

    Dining

A good breakfast is included in most room rates (check the detail above) and features particularly good coffee served with views out over the bay.

The shabby-chic bistro café serves a diverse range of dishes throughout the day with a strong focus on seafood and super fresh ingredients, simply prepared. Eating out on the deck is a particular joy with its unbeatable views, as is working your way through the rather exciting cocktail list...

The restaurant is where you can relax for hours on end, forgetting the buzz of the world around you.
