Riccardo & Marilisa Parisi fell in love with a pile of rubble that is now Borgo di Carpiano in 2001 during their visit to Gubbio. After many years of restoration, devotion and patience the ruin has been transformed into a magical boutique hotel hideaway in the Umbrian hills. Local and traditional materials were used to restore Borgo di Carpiano to create this utterly charming Chic Retreat which is filled with antiques, art and silver from the family collection. Three stone houses make up this hideaway terracing down to the salt water infinity pool and grounds that overlook the valley.
Borgo di Carpiano is located just 15 minutes from Gubbio, the best preserved medieval town in Italy. There are plenty of other magical towns to visit nearby including Perugia, Assisi, Todi, Citta di Castello and Lake Trasimeno. Breathe in the air and enjoy the views from the salt water infinity pool before you even consider doing anything else.
Simple, delicious, mouth-watering food (that you will want the recipes for!) is served at Borgo di Carpiano. The best local ingredients are used of course and they are organic wherever possible.
