The Citta dei Nicliani is the perfect place for a relaxing getaway. With owners that will make you feel more like family, you’ll be hard pushed not to have a truly wonderful time. Set across a cluster of lovingly renovated, 18th-century sun-bleached stone buildings, you'll find quaint courtyards, bright, fragrant flowers and five lovely rooms. What with the stunning mountain views and peaceful village setting, this is the kind of holiday secret you really want to keep.
There’s little better than a home-cooked meal on the hotel’s stunning patio in the evening, nursing a glass of Greek wine while watching the sun set.
A deliciously wholesome breakfast is included in most room rates (check detail below). A wonderful dinner made from some of Greece’s finest local produce is also served on request, accompanied by wines from the hotel's fantastic cellar.
No two rooms are the same, but all five offer a delightfully rustic style with exposed stone walls, cool tiled floors and wooden beamed ceilings. It's worth noting that a couple of the cheaper rooms do come up quite compact and, due to the age of the buildings, windows can be a little small, but this does little to detract from the charm.
Citta dei Nicliani is located on the Mani peninsula in Kitta, a quiet village overlooking rolling olive groves. The lovely staff can help arrange a number of activities and advise on the many hiking trails nearby. If you’re more culinarily inclined, local wine and olive oil tasting experiences can also be arranged through the hotel.
How to get there
Kitta is a remote spot so we would definitely recommend having a car to get here and around.
The hotel can also help arrange transfers to / from the airport (extra charge applies).
Kalamata Airport is a 2 hour 15-minute drive from the hotel (110km)
