You’ll have to go off the beaten track to get to this beautiful hideaway, but once you arrive you’ll agree with us that the effort was more than worth it. A striking boutique hotel nestled in a sheltered cove on the island of Patmos, this boutique bolthole has it all: stunning views, crystal-clear waters, mouthwatering food and a luxurious wellness spa. The décor is quintessential Mediterranean-chic with a contemporary, minimalist twist; interiors are bright and airy, filled with natural light. If you grow tired of sunning yourself on the beach or swimming in the waters of the bay, then explore the unspoiled charms of Patmos, home to the Cave of the Apocalypse, where St. John had his terrifying biblical visions.
Stylish and beautiful in equal measure, Patmos Aktis is the ideal Greek getaway for those with a sense of adventure and a love for the finer things in life.
If you love Greek food with a little bit of a twist then the whitewashed dining experience at Apocalypsis will likely be your favourite dining experience at Patmos Aktis. The masterful chef combines Japanese flavours with traditional Greek recipes resulting in some exquisite flavours using beneficial herbs from the garden. The atmosphere is very relaxed and romantic with candlelit tables and the menu always features seasonal dishes using local produce and fresh fish of the day. Apocalypsis is home to a rich breakfast buffet which includes an abundance of Greek specialties including freshly baked cakes & bread, jams, cheeses and homemade pies.
Plefsis Traditional Tavern is for traditionalists and it is right by the sea on the beach. Think Mama Mia! and you won't be far wrong - square tables covered with checkered tablecloths with geraniums and olive trees dotted around really do make you feel like you are in a Greek movie. From your table, you can watch the local fishermen bring in the catch of the day whilst listening to authentic Greek music and dipping your toes in the sand. Once you have ordered your starters then a delightful dish of Greek specialties arrives on your table for you to nibble on including fresh juicy capers and vegetables from the garden.
The sea breeze, sound of the ocean and magnificent views of Tragonisi make this one of the most romantic and relaxing dining experiences you will find.
Theion is the hotel bar which has an outdoor terrace with whitewashed tables and stone benches. This is where you can come for freshly brewed coffee, ice creams, fresh juices and a famous Mastijito cocktail. Lighter meals including bagels, salads and grilled shrimps are served here throughout the day.
The 56 rooms & suites at Patmos Aktis are contemporary in style with beautiful en-suite marble bathrooms and complimentary WiFi. Most of them have their own balcony with pool views.
Patmos Aktis Suites & Spa is Greece at its best; head for an afternoon stroll through the gardens and whitewashed stone alleys, take a refreshing dip in the pool or plunge your toes into the white sand and cool waters with the occasional nibble from a fish!
As you head into the indoor pool and spa area you will be hit by the different scents of the aromatherapy oils; ginger, rosemary, lavender and orange blossom to name a few, and the candle light and soothing music lead you to the treatment rooms where you can be pampered on your own or with your partner. The Rasul Room is where mineral-rich mud treatments are combined with heat and steam giving you a sensory and detoxifying experience, which we highly recommend.
