Why so chic?
Why travel experts chose this hotel
Set in a 17th-century palace built by King Henry IV of France
Only when you book with Chic
With its prime location just off Place des Vosges and impressive history (the building was built in 1612 by King Henry IV of France, no less) - this Chic Retreat is rather a special spot. Set in its own private courtyard, the rather grand ivy-covered exterior gives way to rich and luxurious interiors with original features and antiques aplenty along with plush fabrics and more contemporary furnishings.
For all its grandeur, however, the atmosphere is delightfully warm and welcoming. Family-run, the owners and their charming staff offer personal and attentive service that never errs on intrusive. What’s more, with the popular Marais district right on the hotel’s doorstep - you couldn’t be better placed to explore.
A good breakfast buffet is available each morning down in this inviting lobby or out on the terrace in the summer months.
There is no restaurant on site but you are spoilt for choice nearby and the hotel’s sweet little honesty bar should more than cover your aperitif needs, with the cosy lounge an inviting spot.
The 56 rooms are each individually designed and offer a lovely blend of old and new with original features set alongside more contemporary furnishings. Whilst some of the cheaper rooms do come up quite small, this is not unusual for Paris and, if you upgrade, you might even bag yourself a balcony with views out over the pretty courtyard.
Spa de la Reine boasts a hot tub, steam bath along with a selection of massages and treatments - perfect for a bit of pampering after a hard day’s exploring. There is also a small gym on site for all your workout needs.
Just a stone’s throw from the Marais - you are spoilt for choice on designer boutiques, bars and brasseries with tables spilling out onto the picturesque streets. The hotel’s Clefs d’Or concierge service is on hand to assist with any tours, tickets or tables you might like to book. There are also bikes available should you prefer to explore on wheels!
