Size ceases to matter in Paris, where most good value hotels you stay in will be cleverly small. It’s just the way the city works, and Hôtel Mayet is no exception. This sweet gem is located on a quiet street just south of the Saint-Germain-des-Prés district in the smart 6th arrondissement.
Modern, simple and stylish, the hotel avoids touristy clichés with its subtle Middle-Eastern touch. With superb murals by contemporary Parisian artists adorning the lobby walls, other kooky design details and a very friendly staff, Hôtel Mayet is a great choice for all types of travellers.
A buffet breakfast is available each morning in the cafe downstairs. There is a bar at the hotel but no restaurant – though there are many great food options nearby.
The 23 rooms are well designed, with bright colours, comfortable beds and an eclectic collection of middle-eastern inspired pictures adorning the walls.
It's worth noting that rooms really are compact and the cheaper rooms are internal-facing with views into the courtyard, so we'd recommend upgrading for a little more space and a view out onto the street.
The hotel is conveniently situated in amongst many of Paris’ must-see sights. With the Tour Eiffel and the Louvre within 30 minutes’ walking distance, and the Jardin de Luxembourg even closer at a 20-minute walk away, you’re spoilt for choice on things to do and see.
