Congham Hall Country House Hotel is Norfolk's finest hotel with a spa and an award-winning restaurant. A traditional English luxury hotel, it's refurbishment is in keeping with the Georgian period of the building. Just a few miles from Sandringham, it is surrounded by parkland, manicured gardens and orchards and is famous for its specialist Herb Garden which features over 700 herbs. Spring and summer months are gorgeous with an abundance of wild flowers, horses grazing in the park and bees enjoying the Herb Garden. During the cooler months log fires burn and the aroma of home baking finds its way to every room. Long stretches of beaches with sand dunes and big blue skies make Norfolk one of the most popular counties to visit, and this family and dog friendly hotel is the perfect base from which to enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
Enjoy invigorating walks along the stretches of sandy beaches (your family dog is welcome to join you!), visit the nearby stately homes or simply watch the abundance of wildlife on your doorstep. Holkham Hall with its pine-fringed shoreline, and Houghton Hall, built by Sir Robert Walpole, are both nearby as is the Queen's royal residence Sandringham. The charming market town of Burnham Market is close by and definitely worth a visit as it has some great shops and restaurants. The Secret Garden Spa is nestled in the herb garden, and the freshly picked herbs are used in a variety of the treatments offered here. It has a swimming pool, thermal suite and outdoor hottub among other fantastic facilities, and offers some truly relaxing treatments. Children are welcome to join their parents at certain times. Babysitting can also be arranged by the hotel if adults wish to spend a romantic evening alone in the restaurant or a few hours unwinding in the spa.
Herbs, salad leaves and vegetables are picked daily from the kitchen garden infusing the food with wonderful flavours. Whatever the occasion, dining at Congham Hall is a memorable one. Seasonal, local produce is used to create mouth-watering dishes. The wine list is just as outstanding with a fine selection of rare wines and vintages for special occasions or simply a treat. Leading directly onto the terrace the light and spacious restaurant enjoys a quintessentially English view of grazing horses and parkland. One of the best afternoon teas we have come across can be savoured at Congham Hall, don't leave without enjoying this tantalising experience. This Chic Retreat can accommodate food intolerance, allergies and diets such as coeliac and lactose free as well as vegetarian or vegan. A high tea is served for young children at 5.30pm. Booking is recommended.
