If it’s a central location at a reasonable price that you’re after on your visit to New York City then Seton Hotel is a pretty good choice. Located about 15-minutes' walk from Times Square, the Empire State Building, and the UN Headquarters – but nicely tucked away from the mayhem, you'll find this friendly little boutique hotel.
The hotel is housed in an elegant converted 1930s apartment building, with a slight Art Deco vibe to the otherwise straightforward design. The staff are friendly and will happily offer recommendations to help guide your wanderings.
There is a lounge area where you can make tea and coffee with a few snacks available to buy. There is no restaurant here – so you will need to head out for food but you're spoilt for choice nearby.
Bedrooms have been recently refurbished, keeping a nod to the building's history, but now offering comfortable beds and fresh, bold wall papers. It's worth noting that the cheaper rooms do come up small and some come with shared bathrooms (though these are adequate, clean and well maintained).
The hotel is situated in New York's Midtown East district. Whilst the area immediately surrounding the hotel is little to write home about, you're a short walk to Times Square, the Theatre District and Empire State Building with plenty more a short subway ride away. The hotel staff can help arrange local transport around New York and tours.
