Senses Luxury Villas & Suites is tucked away in Elia, close to the beach on the south of the island. Built in a traditional style overlooking the sea, the complex is the perfect choice for couples, families or groups of friends looking for privacy and comfort in stylish surroundings. The spaces offer range from deluxe double to 4-bed residences, all of which have balconies or terraces with views to the gardens, surrounding landscape, or the Aegean Sea.
Groceries can be ordered and delivered to your residence before your arrival, and private chefs can be organised if you don't fancy lifting a finger. Buzzing Mykonos Town is a 20-minute drive away and has a great choice of restaurants and bars, but some of the best restaurants can be found on the beaches. Elia Beach Restaurant and Bar (Elia Beach, Ελιά Μυκόνου) is right on the water just a 10-minute walk from Senses, and has far-reaching sea views. Why not rent a lounger and umbrella and spend the day there, before watching the sun go down?
Scorpios can be found 25 minutes away in Paraga, and features swaying palms, boho-chic decoration, and an organic menu. Booking ahead is essential especially in July and August.
And you must try Kikis, located at Agios Sostis beach in the northwest of the island. This rustic tavern has no electricity and doesn't accept any reservations. It opens at midday but the queues start way before then! Persevere, it's worth it... as are the wonderful vistas.
Choose between 1- or 2-bed suites, and 3- or 4-bedroom whitewashed villas. Whichever option you go for, all have fully-equipped kitchens and spacious living areas as well as glorious views. The villas are more spacious, with their own private pools and shaded terrace with dining area. If you don't need as much room, there's also a deluxe double, comprised of a bedroom and en-suite, plus a balcony looking out to the sea. Décor-wise, it's minimalist, with whites and soft tones, alongside the use of Greek materials such as marble, stone and wood.
Complimentary WiFi, pool towels, satellite TV, coffee and tea making facilities, espresso machine, toaster, sandwich maker and microwave oven are standard in the villas and suites. Bed linen is changed every couple of days, and maid service is provided every day.
Unwind with a book by one of the swimming pools, soak up the views, head to Mykonos Town or explore the island. Mykonos has some beautiful beaches with plenty of water sports to choose from, with Elia right on the doorstep if you don't want to travel far. Depending on what you're after, choose your stretch of sand: Paradise and Parage beaches are party spots, while Ornos and Platis Gialos are family-friendly.
One of the must-see places is the lagoon at nearby Rineia island: hire a speedboat at Kalafatis and head out to pristine and turquoise waters.
How to get there
Mykonos is reached by ferry from Piraeus Port of Athens on the Greek mainland; sailings take place daily.
