Set just outside the centre of town in the decidedly un-touristy Città Studi neighbourhood, di Porta Tosa is a charming little boutique bed and breakfast.
Housed in a building dating back to the 1920s, owner Stefano has worked hard to preserve the lovely original features whilst creating a stylish and contemporary place to stay.
With only two rooms, there is a lovely intimate feel here akin to staying with friends. Add to this Stefano’s unfailing attentiveness and you'll be feeling at home in no time.
It's worth noting that there is no official reception here and an extra charge applies for late check-in.
Breakfast is served and can be enjoyed out in the pretty courtyard in fair weather. There is no restaurant on site but your hosts will happily recommend great places nearby.
The twp rooms are spacious and comfortable with high ceilings and big windows offering views out onto the courtyard or the garden. The rooms are individually designed but the décor is elegant throughout, with polished wooden floors, lavish wallpaper and bathrooms featuring some of the building’s original tiling.
B&B di Porta Tosa is in the heart of Città Studi in the northeast of Milan. The neighbourhood is delightfully peaceful and un-touristy though still within easy reach of Milan’s sights. The hotel is directly connected to Fiera Milano (Rho Fiera) via S trains and it takes around 20-minutes to get to the Duomo.
