Just a few steps from the Jemaa El-Fna Square, luxurious Riad Joya offers a welcome oasis in the heart of Marrakech’s Medina. Nestled in the historical and protected area of the Mouassine, this little 7-bedroom gem is hidden amidst the souks and offers the perfect base from which to explore.
Designed by Umberto Branchini, architect and designer extraordinaire, Riad Joya has a timeless elegance and sophistication which, when coupled with exceptional personal service from the charming Khalid and his team, makes for an exceptional stay.
Dining at Riad Joya is unique. Not only is the restaurant incredibly welcoming with its soft lighting and abundance of cushioned seats, there is also the option to dine up on the roof terrace by candlelight, beneath the stars. The cuisine at this Chic Retreat is exceptional with a choice of authentic Moroccan or Italian cuisine available - the latter a reflection of the owner’s heritage with recipes from his mama. Breakfasts are the best kind - long and leisurely - and can also be enjoyed up on the terrace in fair weather.
The 7 sumptuous and inviting suites have each been beautifully designed with space, light and comfort in mind. Inspired by the many cultural influences on the city from over the centuries, the décor gives subtle nods to Roman, Greek and Ottoman design.
There is a wonderful hammam on site (available for private use) with massage and treatments also available - perfect if you’re looking to unwind.
Less than a minute's walk from the souks and with Jemaa El-Fna Square not much further, Riad Joya couldn’t be better placed to explore. What’s more, with plenty of taxis available right by the square, it’s easy enough to venture further afield with the shops of Gueliz (the new town) a short drive away, as well as the splendid Jardins Majorelle and YSL museum.
