If it’s delicious Moroccan food you’re after, Dar Les Cigognes is the right place for you. The chef here prepares some of the best Moroccan dishes you will taste – brimming with local flavour. You can even book one of the excellent cooking classes on offer to let you take some of his wisdom home with you.
As with most riads, this one comes with a magical rooftop spot where you can hang out with the resident storks (the hotel's namesakes), take your breakfast or just relax with a book and a cup of mint tea.
The location is excellent and staff have as much local knowledge as you could possibly need.
Delicious Moroccan cuisine is served from the award-winning restaurant.
The style here is one of traditional charm with each of the 11 rooms individually designed to a different theme and boasting plenty of original details and quirks – though in keeping with the traditional style, they can be a little dark.
There is a spa, hammam and jacuzzi along with a range of treatments and massages available – perfect if you're here to relax.
Cooking classes can be arranged with the riad's wonderful chef and they even have their own cookbook!
Located in the south of the medina opposite the gates of the royal palace, the riad is well-placed to explore with Jemaa El-Fna around 15-minutes' walk away and the souks a further 10-minutes on.
