TÓTEM Madrid is a confidently cool boutique located in the affluent Salamanca area, just off of Madrid’s ‘Golden Mile’ and within walking distance of the city’s top sights. The wood paneling and dark hues evoke an atmosphere of understated urban elegance, complemented by the minimalist furnishings in both the common areas and 64 guest rooms. A restaurant and cocktail bar named for F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Beautiful and the Damned completes this rather chic picture.
‘Hermanas y Malditos’ is the trendy restaurant and cocktail bar pairing, named for the Spanish translation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s ‘The Beautiful and the Damned’. Hermanas is a bright and airy Scandi-style restaurant serving a range of casual dishes with a New York twist. The restaurant also serves a fantastic breakfast/brunch offering, which is not to be missed. Malditos, as befits a bar named ‘The Damned’, has a dark, brooding décor and thick, blue sofas to sink into while sipping on a cocktail worthy of Gatsby.
The 64 rooms at TÓTEM share the minimalist, trendy décor of the public parts of the hotel, and all feature a lot of natural light. We love the delightful details such as the rain showers, and the honeycomb bath robes that are provided.
Shopaholics will love TÓTEM’s proximity to calle Serrano, known as Madrid’s ‘Golden Mile’, which contains a number of premium brands and high-end boutiques. The hotel is within a walking distance to many of Madrid’s cultural highlights such as the Prado Museum, and the lovely green spaces of Retiro Park are also just a short stroll away.
