Locanda al Colle is a small luxury hotel in Tuscany on a hill overlooking the town of Camaiore and the sea beyond. A restored farmhouse with 12 rooms and suites spread over 3 floors, this boutique hotel in Tuscany has been designed with an eclectic mix of vintage, one-off pieces from the 1920 to the 1970s and contemporary art. Outside, a panoramic terrace is nestled between the olive trees, lavender and herbs, and there is a heated salt water swimming pool.

Locanda al Colle can organise trekking in the Apuan Alps, guided bicycle tours around the lake at Massaciucoli to Lucca and boat trips on a private yacht. Visit the areas marble quarries, the beach, which is only 5km away, or take a wine tour to small medieval villages and vineyards at Montecarlo, Bolgheri and Castagneto Carducci. If you want to sit back and relax, swim in the beautiful heated salt water swimming pool, enjoy the views from the panoramic terrace or book in for a Hatha yoga session or massage at this boutique hotel in Tuscany. On Tuesdays, guests can also take a cooking lesson with chef Gian Luca and prepare a four-course feast. We love the fact that access to the beach club is free of charge when staying at Locanda al Colle as Italian beaches can be a costly addition to the holiday.
Breakfast at Locanda al Colle is a delicious spread of toast and homemade jam, fresh fruit, yoghurt and cereal, which can be eaten under the shade of a pergola on the terrace, looking out towards the coast of Versilia. If you wish to have lunch or dinner at Locanda al Colle, simply let staff know at breakfast and the chef will prepare pasta or salad for lunch and a plate of cheese, salami and ham for dinner. On Wednesday and Saturday evenings guests gather round the open-plan kitchen to watch chef Gian Luca (who has worked in a Michelin-starred restaurant) prepare traditional dishes with a contemporary twist.
