Albergo Villa Marta is former 18th-century hunting lodge which has been transformed into a family-run boutique hotel near Lucca, Tuscany. This luxury country house hotel is hidden away in the Tuscan countryside, allowing guests to totally relax and be personally looked after by Andrew, Alessia and their team.
Just 10 minutes by car from the historical centre of Lucca and 20 minutes from Pisa, Albergo Villa Marta is fantastically located. Florence is also only an hour away, and so perfect for a day trip.
The hotel welcomes families, offering babysitting to keep your little ones entertained and supervised. There is also wheelchair access.
At the hotel, there is plenty to keep you occupied. Bikes are available for hire so that you can pedal into the local town of Lucca.
If you would rather relax, various massages are available, ranging from aromatherapy massages to Hawaiin massages. While in summer you can enjoy your treatment in the open air, in the cooler months, massages take place in the comfort of your own room.
Albergo Villa Marta is just 10 minutes away from the historical town of Lucca which features the Guinigi's Tower, one of the few towers left standing, and from here you can see the hotel!
Lucca is a bustling and fashionable town with plenty of restaurants, bars and shops. Of course the Leaning Tower of Pisa is just 20 minutes away by car and if not yet seen it is worth a visit.
Florence is unmissable, and we would recommend allowing a full day there to take in all the sights, sounds and it's magical atmosphere.
The restaurant Botton d'Oro serves a great selection of traditional Tuscan specialities including risotto and hand-made pastas. In order to ensure that guests have an intimate experience, with attentive service, the restaurant has a small number of tables and so we would recommend booking in advance.
In the high season, the restaurant is open all days except Sunday, while during the low season it is only open on Fridays and Saturdays. However, when the restaurant is closed, there is still a Bristo menu, so that you can tuck into lighter dishes.
The wine list includes some of the best local wines; some are well known, while others are unknown gems.
If you are set for a day exploring, the friendly staff at Albergo Villa Mart will be more than happy to make you a takeaway lunch.
