The Georgian House Hotel is a real family affair – having been built in 1851 by the current owner’s great-great-grandfather, this lovely hotel has been handed down from generation to generation.
But do not be deceived – the building’s history and heritage belie a sleek and stylish décor, with boldly patterned wallpapers, designer light fittings and eclectic art pieces. No two rooms are the same, but all are comfortable and well-designed, making the most of the old building’s quirks and charm.
Set in the heart of Pimlico, it's a great spot from which to explore and, for this location and style, we think it’s a great value find for business and leisure travellers alike. It’s worth noting that due to the age of the building there is no lift, so do request a room on a lower level if you have mobility issues.
A very good breakfast is served down in a spacious and stylish basement room – with plenty of delicious farm-sourced products available along with an additional cook-to-order menu.
Each of the 59 rooms has been individually designed with no two the same, though all boast big comfy beds, handpicked antiques and compact, modern bathrooms. There are a range of room types: singles, twins, triples and quadruples – perfect if you’re travelling with the little ones. There are also a few apartments available, which are located in a separate building a couple of minutes' walk away and offer more space, a kitchen and a sofa-bed that sleeps 2 extra people.
The Georgian House Hotel is set in Pimlico, a rather smart part of London with lots grand Regency architecture – and Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square and Westminster all within easy reach. Both the Tate and The Saatchi Gallery are also close by (20-minute walk) along with the swanky shops and restaurants of Sloane Square and the King’s Road.
