If you’re looking for a rural retreat and a bit of peace and quiet, then this countryside spot is the place for you. Surrounded by rolling country, winding lanes and fruitful vineyards, tranquility lies at the heart of Casa Tomaren - and that’s before you step into your own private villa.
Spread across a handful of renovated farmhouses, the hotel feels more like a friend’s home with extra comforts, than it does a hotel. Interiors are a charming blend of Indonesian and Moroccan styles - think dark woods, terracotta hues and vibrant patterns.
A great buffet breakfast is served in the mornings and is included in most room rates (see rate detail below). While there is no restaurant at the hotel, most of the villas have light self-catering facilities, or there are some lovely restaurants a short drive away.
There are nine villas and rooms at Casa Tomaren, each of which has been individually designed with Indonesian and Moroccan-style décor. Most villas have light kitchen facilities - ideal if you’re looking to self-cater. The two bedroom villas are perfect for families, or larger groups.
Stroll through the hotel’s beautifully tended gardens, or sip on a glass of something chilled on the terrace. Wellness is a big deal here; book into one of the classes on offer, from yoga to Tai Chi.
Beyond the hotel perimeters, there are plenty of hikes through the nature reserve to explore. Alternatively, head to the coast, where you can bask on the beaches or try your hand at watersports.
