Housed in a 19th-century townhouse, The Metropolitan’s centuries-old exterior can be deceptive. One step inside its front door reveals a very modern design indeed; from its clean white décor neatly punctuated by exposed brick walls, to its bold flashes of colour among a wealth of chocolate-hued furnishings.
Tucked away on a quiet street about 15-minutes' walk from Krakow's Old Town and Kazimierz quarter, this boutique hotel is primed for city-exploring and relaxing alike. The staff are lovely here too and are happy to share their recommendations on where to see and eat.
An excellent buffet breakfast is served each morning and is included in most room rates (check detail below). Later in the day, tantalise your tastebuds with an unusual blend of Polish and modern European cuisine in the hotel’s Fab Fusion restaurant. Some nights, there is also live music in the bar area – a buzzing spot for an evening tipple.
The rooms here are spacious, impeccably clean and neatly laid-out, with crisp sheets and splashes of patterned décor. There’s not a huge difference between the Classic and Superior rooms: both come with comfortable king-sized beds, modern furnishings and well appointed bathrooms, but the latter is slightly larger in size.
If you’re not tired out from all the sightseeing, the hotel’s small gym will be sure to have you working up a sweat in no time. You’re well-placed for exploring here too; the hotel is only a 10/15-minute walk from the Old Town and the Kazimierz Jewish Quarter.
