Tomtom Suites is a tranquil boutique hotel created in an original Istanbul building in one of Europe's most extraordinary and largest cities (over 60 million people). The Galata and Pera area contains one of the oldest harbours in Istanbul. It was opened during the Ottoman Empire giving the area its multicultural heritage that still exists today. The charming and discreet manager Kartal ensures that service at this new boutique hotel is focused totally on the guest - no expectations are too high. Tomtom Suites is the perfect place to stay for those wanting to be centrally located and is Istanbul's answer to JK Place in Florence, one of our favourite Chic Retreats.
Istanbul is a bustling city full of wonderful sites, sounds, shops & restaurants. Many antiques shops, art galleries, bars & restaurants are just a few minutes from Tomtom Suites. One of our favourite jewellry shops in the Grand Bazaar is Sim Jewellry and there is no better Pashmina man than Sehrazat Cashmere & Silk - be sure to rummage inside the shop to find the best quality and prices.
Taksim Square is a stone's throw away from Tomtom Suites - here there is a large choice of traditional and international dining & entertainment. A stay in Istanbul isn't complete without enjoying Meze (mixed starters) at a Meyhan (Taverna). There are so many to choose from but the ones along the Nevizade Sokak are both authentic and atmospheric - we ate at Boncuk but Neyle Meyle has outdoor heating for the cooler months. Breakfast at Tomtom Suites is a gourmet's delight; fresh, organic honeycomb, organic eggs, a cheese and charcuterie tray, freshly baked bread, homemade jams, cereals, yoghurts, you name it, they serve it and with a dazzling smile to match. Tomtom Suites also has a short simple menu for lunch and dinner with all dining taking place on the 4th floor either on the lovely terrace or in the dining room.
