Located on the mostly car-free island of Spetses - a spot renowned for its dense pine trees and sizzling beaches - Poseidonion Grand Hotel sits right on the waterfront overlooking the Dapia Port and the glittering Med. With a history that dates back to the early 20th-century, this island escape seamlessly blends century-old grandeur and modern style.
The hotel’s majestic exterior recalls the mansion’s rather impressive past - a former cultural hotspot for Greece’s high society. Step over the threshold and the scenery is no less elegant, but represents a more modern era; after a painstaking five-year restoration period, the hotel has been revamped with stylish décor alongside the building’s original features.
Aptly named, the award-winning On the Veranda restaurant is set on a charming seafront terrace. The fine dining spot serves a range of delicious Greek dishes, all made using organic produce from the hotel’s farm in the mountains. There is also a lovely cocktail bar - perfect for that evening tipple.
In the mornings, a great buffet breakfast is served and is included in most room rates (see rate detail below).
Rooms at Poseidonion are designed with contemporary, stylish décor. Most have a largely white colour palette, set of nicely by designer light fittings and sleek wooden furnishings. If you’re lucky, you may even bag a room with a breathtaking view out over the port and ocean. You’re in for a good night’s sleep here - beds boast memory foam mattresses and their is a pillow menu for you to choose from. Bathrooms are just as slick, with spotless white tiling and designer toiletries. It’s worth noting that some rooms come up a little snug, so if you like room to stretch out we recommend upgrading.
Prepare to be well and truly relaxed; Poseidonion not only has two gorgeous pools to choose from, but also boasts a pampering Asian Spa complete with a steam room to unwind in.
Fancy something more active? Put yourself through your paces in the gym, or rent a bike from the hotel and explore the island on wheels.
Beach-worshippers won’t be short of sun-kissed sands either, with Spetses beach just a stroll away.
