One of The Telegraph's favourite pubs with rooms, The Mill at Gordleton delivers on its promise of beautiful rooms and delicious food. Situated on the banks of the Avon Water this pub with boutique hotel rooms is just minutes from the south coast and the New Forest. Located in the charming hamlet of Gordleton in Hampshire, The Mill has beautiful gardens and grounds and a secret garden full of sculptures, exhibits and hidden places to sit.
Eat, drink and be merry during your stay at The Mill where all of the food is homemade on site using the freshest local ingredients from free range eggs, organic vegetables, local cheeses and pork & venison from the New Forest. If you aren't hungry enough to order from the a la carte menu in the restaurant, find a corner in the snug bar for something from the snack menu. The bespoke wine and champagne list has been put together with the help of Julien Le Pévédic from Berry Bros. & Rudd following various visits to vineyards in France, Italy, Australia and England, and there is also a selection of excellent local ales, beers, ciders and cocktails.
Sitting on the edge of the New Forest, The Mill is in the ideal spot for day trips into the Hampshire countryside or for exploring the south coast and its stunning coastline. The 13th-century Beaulieu Abbey and the maritime village of Buckler's Hard are less than 30 minutes drive away and a little further afield are the cathedrals of Salisbury and Winchester. The quaint villages of Lyndhurst and Brockenhurst are nearby, perfect for afternoon tea, or you might fancy a bit of yacht spotting at Hamble Point. Bournemouth has a fantastic stretch of sandy beach with some great bars, restaurants and cafes. Back at home at The Mill you can sit a while in one of the hidden spots and wander through the gardens & grounds including the secret garden full of sculptures and art.
