    Dewsall is a beautiful grade 2 listed family-owned chic retreat in the heart of the Herefordshire countryside and the perfect alternative to a boutique hotel if looking for a hideaway to enjoy with friends.  This much-loved family home has been refurbished and transformed into a luxurious and stylish 10 bedroom country house retreat which can be taken over exclusively. Foodies will love the huge kitchen whilst the boys will enjoy a bitter or two in the billiard room which has a full size antique billiard table.  The property can be staffed where necessary, fully catered when requested or entirely private. The cooler months at Dewsall are just as magical as the summer months as the property is surrounded by 15 acres of beautiful formal gardens and wild meadows with far reaching views across the Black Mountains.  The 1000 acres of Duchy of Cornwall land has open bridleways throughout allowing you to walk for many hours straight from the front door.


    Being in the middle of the countryside guests can enjoy a variety of country sports and pursuits including shooting, fly fishing, hot air ballooning and paragliding.  Or for a bit of fun and to really enjoy the surrounding fields and farmland take a trip on The Great British safari, Dewsall’s exciting way of exploring this expanse of beauty nestled in and over the southern Welsh borders. On all overnight adventures you can expect a boutique and luxurious camp with fine food and cosy beds. With a range of experts on hand you can travel up the Black Mountains or float through the Golden valley picking up the knowledge to find some of Britains rarest and prettiest flora and fauna.  Dewsall has quickly become one of the UK's most sought after wedding locations, with its idyllic location and gorgeous interiors, it is the perfect romantic retreat for those looking to tie the knot.  Everything and anything can be organised at Dewsall from chefs, to guided walks, shooting, Shiatsu, shooting and foraging.


    When staying at the pop-up hotel the team at Dewsall focus on making you feel at home in your very own country house and in doing so they try as much as possible to steer clear from the hotel/restaurant theme. Therefore dinner is served as a set meal (all dietary requirements catered for) with an all day menu served from 12-9pm.  Dewsall is available for serviced or unserviced exclusive use and is staffed where necessary, fully-catered when requested or entirely private.

    The 10 rooms at Dewsall all feature their own spacious bathrooms, each of them unique and all of the rooms feature antiques and pretty soft furnishings, some more traditional than others.  If you are coming as part of a party or family gathering be the first to arrive to take your pick of rooms as you will be spoilt for choice at Dewsall. If staying as a hotel guest, we love the Chateau Room with its soft muted colours, pretty wallpaper and bathroom complete with roll top bath. If space is you priority why not book the Dewsall Suite which has three rooms including its own private sitting room.  For those looking for a romantic weekend away book the Four Poster Room with wonderful double aspect views over the court and farmland.  The bathroom features a deep Japanese style Onken bath and huge walk in shower.

    The Winch room

    An interesting room with high ceiling, lots of beams and the old granary winch. The high ceiling and beams. We can put a further single bed in this room if required, on the mezzanine in the roof. With views over the court and church and a lovely light airy bathroom.

  • Conditions
    Payments policy

    Booking may only be accepted if made in writing on Dewsall’s official booking form when all questions have been answered satisfactorily and according to the details specified through email correspondence. For bookings made more than 12 weeks prior to the tenancy commencement date a deposit of 50% of the rent must be delivered with completed booking form. If a booking is made less than 12 weeks before the commencement date the full rent together with any additional charges must be tendered at the time of delivery of the Booking Form. In the event that Dewsall do not accept an Applicants Offer all moneys paid by way of deposit will be refunded immediately. The balance of rent and any additional charges is due 12 weeks before the start date of the tenancy. The Cautionary Deposit of £1000 (see point 12 below) is due 4 weeks before the start of the tenancy. Payment of catering and its associated costs is subject to separate terms and conditions. Non-payment by the due date will be treated as a cancellation and Dewsall may re-let the property without reference to the applicant who remain liable for payment of the full amount on the same basis as in the event of cancellation ( see 5 Below). Reminders are not sent – please send the balance by the due date.

    Cancellation policy

    ALL APPLICANTS ARE ADVISED TO TAKE OUT PERSONAL CANCELLATION INSURANCE. Any request to cancel a booking must be sent in writing to Dewsall. Whilst the Applicant remains liable to make the final payment by the due date shown on the Booking Form, Dewsall will attempt to re-let the property for the period of the booking the Applicant wishes to cancel (‘the Period’). If Dewsall re-lets the property for the Period at a sufficient rent, then it will refund to the Applicant a sum equal to the amounts received from the Applicant and the new customer for the property for the Period less 1. the total price of the Applicants booking for the Period; 2. an administration charge of 15% of the total booking cost and 3. all other costs and expenses reasonably incurred Dewsall as a result of the Applicant’s request to cancel.
