Snuggled amidst the snow-adorned Swiss Alps, the dramatic setting of this 22-room boutique hotel looks like it has jumped straight of a Christmas card. Dating back to the 19th-century, Hotel Bellevue Wiesen has long welcomed travellers, skiers, trekkers and cyclists through its doors - experience that shows itself through the careful attention to detail throughout.
The décor here is all cosiness and comfort, with snug armchairs and a crackling fireplace in the living areas. Better yet, the staff are absolutely wonderful and will go out of their way to assist no matter how big or small your needs. Most relaxing of all is, perhaps, simply staring over the spectacular mountain scenery, glass of wine in hand, on the hotel’s lovely terrace.
Hotel Bellevue Wiesen is a family-friendly hotel, with family rooms available. The staff are happy to help organise activities for the kids, be it skiing, cycling, adventure parks or more.
This is also a dog-friendly hotel - please notify the hotel ahead of arrival (extra charge applies).
Power your day with breakfast at the hotel, which is included in most room rates (see rate detail below). When your tummy starts to rumble again, head to the hotel restaurant where you can tuck into a range of local dishes while soaking up the incredible alpine views. All meals are prepared using locally sourced ingredients where possible, with an à la carte menu that changes with the seasons.
A great afternoon tea is also served at the restaurant - what better way to satisfy your sweet tooth.
The hotel’s bar is the perfect spot to sip on an aperitif; specialising in gins, there are a range of excellent cocktails to sample, along with some great beers and wines.
There are 22 rooms at the hotel, which all feature comfy beds with crisp sheets and sleek bathrooms. Décor is alpine chic, with most rooms showcasing patterned wallpapers, a cool-toned colour palette and wooden furnishings. If you’re lucky, you may even bag a room with a view out over the surrounding mountains. Travelling with the little ones? Family options are available. It's worth noting that some of the cheaper options can come up a little snug, so if you like room to stretch out we recommend upgrading.
A popular skiing and snowboarding destination, the Swiss Alps are blessed with a range of slopes for all levels; from beginner to advanced. Tobogganing can also be organised - a real treat for kids and adults alike.
It’s not only skiers with all the fun; there are a number of great hikes through the surrounding mountains, not to mention some great cycling routes in the summer.
