Bellinter House is just under an hour’s drive from Dublin but couldn’t feel further away offering a relaxing and rural escape. It’s the best of both worlds – a Palladian style 18th-century house that has been stylishly revamped and now offers delicious contemporary dining, green tea bath treatments and quirky décor all in a traditional setting on the banks of the River Boyne. The drive up alone is gorgeous – perfect for escaping the city humdrum.
Bellinter House is available to hire for weddings and private events.
Breakfast is served each morning in the award-winning Eden Restaurant (sister restaurant to the one in Dublin) which also serves dinner (no children allowed after 8pm).
The Drawing Room & Bar is a cosy spot to enjoy drinks and light snacks throughout the day with Afternoon Tea a particular treat (must be booked in advance).
The 34 rooms are spread across the main house, East and West Pavillions, converted Stables and what the team call The Ruins which also houses the wonderful treatment rooms. The vibe here is most definitely shabby-chic, and while in some spots it could almost do with a little TLC, overall it’s a lovely Irish getaway.
There is a spa, sauna, steam room and outdoor hot tub (not open in winter months) – perfect if you're looking to relax. If you're after more active pursuits, fishing, shooting, horse riding and hot air ballooning can all be arranged by request and there are a number of golf courses within an hour's drive of the hotel.
If you fancy venturing out, wander along the banks of the River Boyne or climb the Hill of Tara.
How to get there
Due to the hotel's remote setting, we would recommend having a car to get here and around. There is parking on site.
Dublin Airport is a 40-minute drive away (48km)
