The Horn of Plenty knows how to do a weekend escape. This lovely spot, in a gorgeous slice of Devon, is England at its best; backed by endless greenery and hills rolling left, right and centre, even classic grey weather won’t ruin your trip.
This unassuming country house has 5 acres of gardens, so you certainly won’t be short of country strolls. Nor will you be short of delicious food, with an award-winning restaurant on site.
Sample your way through British dishes in the hotel’s award-winning restaurant, which is open for lunch and dinner ‒ they even serve an indulgent afternoon tea. In the mornings, breakfast is served with a range of hot and cold dishes and is included in most room rates (see detail below).
The 16 rooms are split between the main house and two coach houses, the latter offering a more contemporary feel, but all are smartly decorated. Well behaved dogs are welcome to stay in some rooms – be sure to contact the hotel to arrange this well in advance of your arrival (extra charge applies).
Overlooking the Tamar Valley, the hotel is a great place to explore Devon and Cornwall, including Dartmoor and The Eden Project. After a long day outdoors, treat yourself to an in-room massage or beauty treatment which is available by appointment.
