Why so chic?
Why travel experts chose this hotelChic Treats
Only when you book with ChicSet right on the waterfront in the heart of the picturesque Old Town – Alcanea Boutique Hotel is a luxurious pick for your stay in Chania and could not be a better base from which to explore.
This beautiful Venetian building has been carefully restored and renovated to offer eight elegant rooms that boast a tasteful blend of traditional and contemporary, with warm-coloured walls, rug-strewn floors and pictures from local artists.
Reception is not manned 24-hours a day but the lovely staff couldn’t be more attentive with fantastic recommendations for things to do, see and eat. It’s worth noting that the hotel is closed between November and April.
Dining
A generous made-to-order breakfast is served out on the terrace at the Café & Wine Bar overlooking the water. This is a popular spot with guests and locals alike, serving a light menu throughout the day along with local wines, cocktails and beers.
You will need to head out for dinner but are spoilt for choice on great restaurants nearby. Tamam is a particular favourite just a 2-minute walk from the hotel.

Whilst we would definitely recommend having a car to best explore Crete, Chania's Old Town is a pedestrianised zone. As such, there is no parking on site but plenty of free options a short walk away.
Souda ferry port is a 20-minute drive away (8km)
Nearest airport
Chania Airport is a 30-minute drive from the hotel (15km)
