Resort Borgo Syrah is a collection of spacious apartments located in the green hills of Tuscany on the Tenimenti d'Alessandro wine estate. Historical buildings have been redefined and renovated into modern, self-catering spaces that can sleep up to 6 people. Creta Osteria serves seasonal plates using local ingredients, and the spa provides a pampering hideaway. Art-lovers will be in their element: the grounds are home to installations from renowned creatives such as Antony Gormley and Daniel Buren.
Located in Manzano, the site is made up of about 30 hectares of vineyards and was certified organic in 2016. Experience first-hand the harvesting and production of wine right down to the final product – a paradise for oenophiles. And also the perfect choice for families looking for an independent alternative to a hotel, but with all but with the services of one.
At the homely and inviting Creta Osteria, you'll find the perfect combination of finely-crafted seasonal dishes and carefully selected wines. Artwork adorns the walls and traditional plates are reinvented using modern techniques. How does fettuccelle, with eel, cime di rapa and five spice sound? Or beef with celeriac, raspberry and black tea?
There are 12 air-conditioned apartments to choose from at Resort Borgo Syrah, all of which can be found in renovated historical buildings. Original features have been restored and modern furnishings added. They come in different shapes and sizes and sleep up to 6 people. You'll have access to the vegetable gardens to pick your own produce, as well as use of a BBQ. WiFi, parking, access to the spa and pool are all complimentary, and babysitters can be booked on request.
A stay at Resort Borgo Syrah wouldn't be complete without taking a tour of the winery and sampling a few wines: Syrah and Viognier are most widely produced. A visit should also be made to the spa, a large space which not only has a gym but also a sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, and massage rooms.
And on a warm evening there's nothing better than wandering around the estate with a glass of vino in hand, soaking up the estate and Tuscan views.
