A sleek outpost of the Brosner Hotel Group, Hotel Danmark is just as design-led as its sister properties. From the outside, the hotel appears a mishmash of old and new, set across an 18th-century building and an adjoining modern one. Step inside, however, and contemporary Danish design is everywhere; from the cool-hued colour scheme, to the designer light fittings and slick furnishings.
The vibe here is undeniably cool - even the staff have a hip and friendly aura about them. Better yet, you’d be hard-pressed to find a hotel with a more central location, with the Tivoli Gardens, National Museum and Christiansborg Palace all within skipping distance.
As a member of the Green Key programme, Hotel Danmark is a eco-friendly hotel committed to working sustainably.
An buffet breakfast is served in the mornings, serving organic and healthy fare. When your stomach starts to rumble again, head to the independently run Tivolihallen restaurant and sample some traditional Nordic dishes.
In the afternoons, head to the hotel bar for Wine Hour, where you can sip on a complimentary glass (or two!). It’s well worth enjoying the hotel’s own wine, ONE, while you’re there.
The rooms’ décor follows the same line as the rest of the hotel, with a cool-toned colour palette, sleek furnishings and a modern design. Bathrooms are just as slick, coming with the added treat of designer toiletries. It’s worth noting that rooms do come up rather snug, so if you like room to stretch out, we recommend upgrading.
In line with its trendy ambience, Hotel Danmark plays host to a stylish rooftop terrace, complete with a bar and panoramic views over the Copenhagen’s skyline. Here you can sip on a glass of something chilled, laze on the many cushioned loungers, or simply hang out with your fellow travellers. Just when we thought it couldn’t get any more hip, there are even some live DJ events on the terrace in the summer months.
You’ll be quick to realise on visiting that cycling is a big deal in Copenhagen. It’s little surprise then that bikes are available to hire from the hotel. If that isn’t exercise enough, there is also a gym to make use of at the hotel.
