Just on the edge of Surrey, The Swan Inn at Chiddingfold is an award-winning pub with rooms in the Home Counties within easy reach of London. A great place to eat, drink, meet and relax, this hideaway is perfect for a mid-week jaunt, a night away for business, a golf trip or a weekend break.
Behind the relaxed and informal atmosphere in the restaurant at The Swan Inn is a serious chef with a talented team who mean business. The menu is built around local, seasonal products and so the dishes change on a weekly basis; the Sunday lunches are probably the best in Surrey. If you're looking for somewhere to celebrate a special occasion then book the private dining room - it seats 40 and is perfect for birthdays, celebrations or even company events. The drinks menu is a tantalising mix of proper pints and real ales that are produced by the Upham Brewery, cocktails, ciders, champagnes and wines. If it is a coffee or tea you are after then settle down in front of the fire and savour a freshly ground cup of Italian coffee.
West Sussex, Surrey and the south coast are all within easy driving distance of The Swan. The Goodwood Revival and Festival of Speed take place on the nearby Goodwood Estate, as is the Top Gear studio. There is plenty to do and see right on your doorstep from hot air ballooning to exploring the Ramster Gardens or shopping in Chichester. The championship golf courses of Sunningdale and Wentworth are just over half an hour away or nearby Chiddingfold has a pay and play course for a fun round. Cowdray Park Polo Club is the home of British Polo and venue for the Gold Cup, and the Cowdray Estate has excellent fishing on the River Rother in West Sussex. Clay pigeon shooting and a simulated game shoot can be organised for groups of friends or corporate days. Garden lovers should head to Winkworth Arboretum or RHS Wisley, one of the world's finest gardens and less than 20 minutes away. Petworth House, immortalised by Turner and landscaped by Capability Brown is also worth a visit if you have time.
