Nestled amongst World Heritage listed rainforest, Pavilion 2 at Broken Head is an idyllic boutique villa a 15-minute drive from the vibrant Byron Bay, the easternmost point of Australia.
The villa - a series of spacious interconnected open-plan pavilions - seamlessly blends in with its lush outdoor surroundings with extensive use of stone, glass and timber. The outdoor ambience is thoroughly relaxing, with the villa boasting an private pool, outdoor bath and a rainforest-inspired native Australian garden.
However, despite its tranquil and secluded location, Pavilion 2 has direct access to some of the best surfing beaches in the country, making this an ideal retreat for outdoorsy families or groups.
The fully-equipped kitchen has everything you'll need, including a double oven and microwave, induction hob, coffee machine, dishwasher and dishwasher. A stainless-steel BBQ is also provided.
Pavilion 2 at Broken Head consists of a series of interconnected open plan pavilions encompassing extensive living areas, decks and 4 light and airy bedrooms sleeping up to 8 adults with room for 3 extra children. All rooms are decorated in a calming colour palette of pastels, creams and whites. Music and gadget lovers will be pleased to know that there is a Sonos music system throughout, everyone will love the pool, and the master bedroom also has an outdoor bath – great for a romantic evening soak under the stars.
The villa has a delightful swimming pool, but to catch some waves, head to some of the best surfing beaches in Australia, which, handily, are right on your door stop. As the area is also ripe for kite surfing, whale watching, scuba diving, and snorkelling, you won’t run out of things to do on the water.
Alternatively, spend an afternoon hiking the World Heritage listed rainforests, all the while keeping a lookout for wallabies, echidnas, goannas and native birdlife. After walking just a short way, you’ll also come across some stunning tea tree lakes.
If you fancy heading into town, Byron Bay is a just short drive away and has some fabulous markets, galleries, festivals and restaurants. Before you go, make sure to hike the lighthouse trail – a stunning coastal walk which offers spectacular views of the surrounding cliffs, beaches and rainforest.
How to get there
There are regular shuttle buses to and from the Ballina, Gold Coast and Brisbane airports to Byron Bay. After which, the villa is only a 15-minute taxi drive away.
