Located within view of the elegant St Stephen’s Basilica, Aria Hotel Budapest is a luxurious Hungarian palace with a musically-inspired décor. Designer Zoltan Varro has woven this theme into every aspect of the hotel, from the funky piano-key carpet to the suites and rooms styled around individual artists. This musicality isn’t simply for show however: there are frequent live performances on the unique space-age piano in the airy indoor garden courtyard.
Aria has much that appeals to the discerning guest, including a world-class restaurant, and a rooftop bar with spectacular views over St Stephen’s Basilica, while the subterranean pool and spa offers the perfect place to unwind after exploring the faded grandeur of Budapest.
A complimentary breakfast is served in the bright indoor courtyard. Stradivari Restaurant serves a mixture of international and Hungarian cuisines in an elegant contemporary dining room. The High Note SkyBar serves cocktails and small plates, and is the perfect place to watch the sunset from its terrace with amazing panoramic views of the city. For a glittering taste of the jazz age, Satchmo’s Bar, just off of the hotel’s lobby, is a lively spot for cocktails and the occasional live performance.
Rooms at Aria Hotel are themed around four musical periods. The Opera and Classical rooms feature Neo-Baroque furnishings and coffered ceilings, inspired by an age of polished elegance. The Jazz rooms evoke the atmosphere of a 1920s speakeasy, with exposed brick walls and polished chrome furnishings. Contemporary rooms are inspired by the Pop Art style of the 1970s with bold prints and custom-made headboards.
The underground Harmony Spa is a seductive space complete with a large indoor heated pool and jacuzzi, perfect for an indulgent pampering . Treat yourself to one of the seasonal treatments, or sweat it out in the Aromatic Steam Room, Finnish Sauna, or Infrared Sauna. In the afternoons, there are live piano recitals in the glass-enclosed indoor courtyard, with complimentary wine and cheese.
The Aria Hotel is located in the heart of historic Pest, directly opposite St Stephen’s Basilica. Take a trip up to the cathedral’s cupola, which gives stunning panoramic views of the city below; or venture into the Basilica itself to view Hungary’s most holy relic, the mummified right hand of St Stephen. If the musical theme of the Aria has piqued your interest, then a trip to the impressive Hungarian State Opera House is a must.
