Housed in a grand 19th-century building, this 27-room boutique hotel in Bruges is certainly a treat for the eyes. The townhouse exterior belies opulent décor within; from the glittering chandeliers and antique pieces, to the wood-panelled walls and ornately framed portraits. The historical intrigues don’t end there: tucked away beneath the hotel lies the preserved 14th-century cellars, which now play host to a lavish spa.
History isn’t Hotel Heritage’s only allure; privately owned, the hotel was dreamed up by Johan and Isabelle, who transformed the place into the palatial boutique hotel it is today. Their commitment to delivering outstanding service is showcased through the wonderful staff, who go out their way to ensure you’re well looked after.
Le Mystique, the hotel's restaurant, serves up imaginative takes on traditional Belgian and French dishes. All meals are prepared using locally sourced, seasonal and organic produce where possible. There is also a bar - the perfect spot for an aperitif.
Breakfast is just as delicious, with an extensive spread of hot and cold dishes to choose from (extra charge applies).
The 27 rooms at Hotel Heritage blend tradition and charm alongside discrete, modern technology. While they come up in a range of shapes and sizes, all have beds kitted out in luxe bedding and sleek bathrooms with designer toiletries. In line with the rest of the hotel, décor is elegantly appointed - think pretty artwork, glitzy chandeliers and rich fabrics.
Get your pamper fix at the hotel spa, which offers a range of relaxing massages and treatments. There is also a sauna and steam room to make use of.
Set just a couple of minute's walk from the Belfort Belfry and Market Square - you couldn't be better placed to explore and the charming staff are on hand to guide your wanderings.
