Why so chic?
Why travel experts chose this hotel
Only when you book with Chic
The Green House Hotel proves that boutique hotel eco-friendly can go hand in hand. In fact, this Chic Retreat takes its environmental standards very seriously - the staff are trained on sustainability, all suppliers are assessed against recognised environmental standards, and even the beds and wallpaper have been sourced from sustainable sources. Better yet, the hotel runs on solar energy and electricity generated from a heat and power system.
That being said, there is no skimping on design and creature comforts. Set in a Victorian grade II listed building, the hotel has only 32 beautifully appointed rooms, establishing an incredibly personable feel. Décor is stylish, from the patterned wallpapers to the swanky dining area - complete with a lifesize oak sculpture in the centre.
In line with the rest of the hotel, the award-winning restaurant, Arbor, works to high environmental standards. Arbor works closely with local Dorset suppliers to create original and inspiring daily menus, using organic food wherever possible.
Locally-brewed beer and spirits are served at the bar, and the wine list has been carefully selected with each bottle’s carbon footprint in mind. Here you can also enjoy an exquisite afternoon tea, complete with indulgent cakes, freshly-baked scones and delicious sandwiches - you even have the option of champagne.
Each of the 32 rooms have been individually decorated in a modern style, with each furnishing carefully selected to meet the hotel’s environmental standards. Some rooms feature bold patterned wallpapers, some have colourful headboards and others come with freestanding tubs in the room itself. Bathrooms are slick and come with (you guessed it) eco-friendly designer toiletries.
Set in Bournemouth, the hotel is just a stroll away from the beach. Alternatively, head into the town centre and browse its many bustling shops and bars, or visit the Oceanarium for an up-close view of some of the sea’s extraordinary creatures.
