Following on from the success of The Circus Hostel, the owners decided to set up an equally fun and friendly hotel version across the road. The result: a stylish hideaway that offers all the vibrancy and buzz of its hostel counterpart, but with a generous spread of key hotel comforts, not to mention some peace and quiet for those of us a little past our days of dorm life.
As with any good hostel worth its salt, the communal areas are fun and sociable places to hang out and the roof terrace is a fab spot to enjoy a pre-dinner beer. It’s also the perfect launchpad for exploring Germany’s capital, centrally located between the Mitte district and Prenzlauer Berg.
Bar and brunch hub, COMMONGROUND, is open to all hotel guests and the public alike, serving delicious gourmet breakfasts, brunches and evening tapas along with lavish cocktails and homebrewed craft beers.
No two of The Circus Hotel’s rooms are the same, with each sporting their own quirky design but all are decked out with plenty of bright colours, big comfy beds and slick, modern bathrooms. It’s worth noting that rooms facing the street can be a little noisy, so if you’re a light sleeper we’d recommend either requesting a quiet room, or opting for a more spacious Junior Suite, most of which look out onto the peaceful courtyard below.
Given its city-central location, you are spoilt for choice on great shops, galleries, bars and restaurants nearby. The hotel offers free history tours each week and personal tours can be arranged upon request. If you fancy heading further afield, The Circus Hotel is well placed for public transport.
Yoga-bunnies are well catered for here: throughout the summer, free yoga classes are held on the hotel’s lovely roof terrace (subject to good weather). Bikes are also available for hire ‒ this is Berlin after all ‒ so you can pedal your way through the city’s grid of sight-heavy cycle paths.
