Sir Savigny, an entitled member of the SIR hotels family, breathes a creative spirit into the hip heart of the old West. His luxury boutique hotel is a gateway to Berlin's upscale Charlottenburg area, situated directly on the famous Savignyplatz in the City West's vibrant Art Nouveau district, within walking distance from the legendary Kurfürstendamm, Berlin's shopping oasis.
Sir Savigny himself is a cultivated yet witty cosmopolitan culinary host for lifestyle travellers, locals and neighbours. He created the most welcoming environment with his stylish-yet-entirely-casual approach to design. Sir Savigny welcomes visitors in his kitchen where they can discuss the aesthetics of Fassbinder at his kitchen table, while sipping a Manhattan and enjoying a bloody delicious burger from his in-house kitchen, The Butcher.
The hotel hosts a branch of trendy burger joint, The Butchers, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you fancy a break from patties, you’re spoilt for choice on gourmet haunts, cafés, restaurants and eateries nearby.
What we loved...
Sir Savigny was one of the most relaxed hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The vibe was so homely, you felt really comfortable just lounging around doing nothing for hours – a welcome break from fast-paced London life. However, although it was really chilled-out, the design was also on-point throughout – meticulously considered and sleekly executed. From the glossy art books scattered over the dining tables and stacked on the shelves to the artistic headboards in the bedrooms – the hotel really embodied a creative, yet well polished, atmosphere.

Following a recent refurb, the 44 rooms are sexier than ever with cool, grey walls, leather headboards, rich fabrics and designer light fittings. They’re kitted out for a good night’s sleep too, sporting luxe linens and super comfy beds. Bathrooms are compact with the sink in the bedroom, while the showers and loos are tucked behind almost cupboard-like doors. The additional fluffy bathrobes are always a treat and an upgrade to the Suite may even bag you a free-standing tub.
Near to the rather smart Charlottenburg area, the eponymous hotel is set smack-bang on the famous Savignyplatz in City West making it an excellent launchpad for exploring. You’ll want to leave some room in your suitcase too: Kurfürstendamm and its trove of shops are a short walk away.
