Why so chic?
Why travel experts chose this hotel
Only when you book with Chic
Made up of a patchwork of different styles, it’s hard to pin down this unusual boutique hotel. Décor is as funky as it is eclectic; light fittings vary from magazine-pasted light shades to designer lamps, while rooms are anything from urban chic to minimalist. The result is a cool and trendy vibe that fits in perfectly with the hip city outside.
This is a family-run operation, so you can expect a place created with passion and care. Staff are lovely and are on call around the clock to ensure that your every need is catered for.
In the mornings, the hotel restaurant serves a range of dishes, often with a focus on healthy and local ingredients. Veggies and vegans are catered for. On some nights, the restaurant is open for dinner, or else there is a large selection of options to choose from beyond the hotel doors. There is also a great bar at Michelberger, which often plays host to live music events.
Each room is different from the last - expect anything from exposed wooden walls to patterned wallpapers and book-plastered stretches. Some are two-tiered, some have quirky light fittings and others are have a uniquely urban feel about them. It’s worth noting that some rooms, while cosy, come up on the small side, so if it’s lots of space you’re after, we’d recommend upgrading.
Located in Friedrichshain, this is a great base for city-exploring. Just a 10-minute walk will take you to the East Side Gallery - a art-laden stretch of the infamous Berlin Wall. This is a rather young and buzzing part of the city too, full of trendy bars, pulsing clubs and innovative eateries.
