Cliveden House Hotel is a one of a kind and is Berkshire's best boutique hotel, a Chic Retreat that no one can resist and one that has been visited by Churchill, Lennon, Chaplin and Lawrence to name a few. Cliveden is more than a luxury boutique hotel, it is a stately home and a grand one at that. Surrounded by over 350 acres of Grade I listed formal gardens, pastures and parkland Cliveden has far reaching views over the River Thames and the Berkshire countryside. With a luxury spa and award-winning restaurant it is the perfect luxury hotel for a romantic escape or family break. Chic Retreats is delighted to share the good news that Cliveden, possibly the world's most impressive hotels, is now fully restored to its former glory and is welcoming guests back. Over the past 16 months a programme of extensive restoration has been undertaken, which has seen the remarkable transformation of the public spaces, suites and bedrooms.
Tucked away inside Cliveden's Walled Garden, made famous by its association with the Profumo affair in the 1960s, The Pavilion Spa provides a haven of tranquillity offering an impressive choice of beauty and holistic therapies and 6 treatment rooms, brands used include Anne Semonin and Carita. Guests can enjoy the indoor and outdoor swimming pools as well as the fully-equipped gym as well as the steam rooms and sauna. On a lovely summer's day the walled garden is the best place to catch the sun and becomes quite a sun trap. Whatever the weather you can enjoy a game of tennis as Cliveden has both an indoor and outdoor tennis court. A jaunt down the River Thames on one of Cliveden's lovingly restored vintage launches is a must, especially with a picnic or afternoon tea on board.
Award-winning Chef André Garrett has arrived at Cliveden putting colours, textures, flavours and passion into an exquisite menu which includes Lake District Longhor Beef, Orkney Scallops and Blueberry and Frangipane Tart with Pistacio Cream. At Cliveden the food, the wine, the service and the atmosphere are all as exceptional as the other no matter which of the two restaurants you choose, not forgetting of course the beautiful views. André Garrett at Cliveden is a more formal fine dining experience with stunning views of the gardens and parkland. The Club Room was once the Duke of Westminster's personal stables and is a more informal and relaxed option open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a gastro-pub feel and setting. In the Club Room, children 0 to 10 years are allowed in the morning up until 6.30pm and a high tea is served for them in the Club Room from 5-6pm. Children 10 years and over are welcome if accompanied by a responsible and well behaved adult!.
